Special Education Teacher Portfolio

Introducing Me!
I was born and raised in the small town of Fitzwilliam, NH. I grew up in a family of nine, being the second oldest of seven children. I graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2022 from a small Catholic high school. Seeing that my high school was so small, I was not overly involved in extracurriculars during my high school years.

In the fall of 2022, I went out to North Dakota to attend college at the University of Mary. While I orgininally intended to go into occupational therapy, I found myself really nervous about spending six or more years in college. When I mentioned this to my mom, she suggested I go into special education, and while I didn't exactly know what special education was like at all, I jumped in headfirst and fell in love with it!

UMary offers a year-round campus program, which I took advantage of. I took online classes through UMary one summer, which helped me to get ahead enough to graduate in three years instead of four. My first year at UMary, I was pretty uninvolved. I was very focused on "just getting by" and passing my classes. However, my second year, I became a resident assistant in Boniface East Hall and a Student Government senator for the Liffrig Family School of Education and Behavioral Sciences. I also was a member of the Liffrig School's Emerging Leaders Academy. Towards the end of my senior year of college, I enlisted in the ND Army National Guard and went to Basic Training and AIT for logistics the summer of 2025, after graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Mary with a bachelor's in Special Education.

Looking past all the "professional" details of my life, you'll find that I'm just a crazy Catholic girl who loves hikes, last-minute adventures, hangouts with friends and family, the color teal, ice cream, nature, summertime, and koalas.
