Special Education Teacher Portfolio

Introducing Me!
I was born and raised in the small town of Fitzwilliam, NH. I grew up in a family of nine, being the second oldest of seven children. I graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2022 from a small Catholic high school. Seeing that my high school was so small, I was not overly involved in extracurriculars during my high school years.

In the fall of 2022, I went out to North Dakota to attend college at the University of Mary. While I orgininally intended to go into occupational therapy, I found myself really nervous about spending six or more years in college. When I mentioned this to my mom, she suggested I go into special education, and while I didn't exactly know what special education was like at all, I jumped in headfirst and fell in love with it!

UMary offers a year-round campus program, which I took advantage of. I took online classes through UMary one summer, which helped me to get ahead enough to graduate in three years instead of four. My first year at UMary, I was pretty uninvolved. I was very focused on "just getting by" and passing my classes. However, my second year, I became a resident assistant in Boniface East Hall and a Student Government senator for the Liffrig Family School of Education and Behavioral Sciences. I also was a member of the Liffrig School's Emerging Leaders Academy.

Looking past all the "professional" details of my life, you'll find that I'm just a crazy Catholic girl who loves hikes, last-minute adventures, hangouts with friends and family, the color teal, ice cream, nature, summertime, and koalas.
